    ISF Member Retirements

    Post by Pwyle Kenobi on Thu 18 Oct 2012, 8:42 am

    Even ISF needs to retire inactive people who have stopped playing Eve.

    The below listed characters (plus their associated alts) have been retired from ISF (both ingame and on these forums) because they have not logged into these forums or ingame for either:
    1. 30+ days, with no notice given that they would be away and will come back; or
    2. 90+ days, irrespective of any notice given.

    There is nothing personal in this. All of these folks will be missed. However we must assume that they have stopped playing Eve Online and they may not ever be back (although we hope they will be one day).

    If any of these people return to Eve Online, we hope they will consider reapplying to ISF.

    The following is to answer some evemails and PMs I've received .....

    ISF is a living, breathing and ACTIVE corp and we need living, breathing and ACTIVE members. Wink

    Why retire anyone?

    If ISF Members become inactive, we drop them from the corp for several good reasons, including (and not limited to):
    1. so prospective incoming members don't think we have more members than we really do;
    2. so our alliance can properly assess our numbers for joint ops;
    3. so the corp Councillors and Senior Officers can properly assess our numbers for corp ops;
    4. so we don't become regarded as a "parking lot" for unused characters - corps that accept that state of affairs are "Zombie Corps" full of the electronic living dead. affraid

    Why so many now?

    Shen Rajinto and I each took some time away from Eve due to RL and so did not have time until now to inspect for inactive ISF Members. We will try to attend to this more regularly in the future (probably once every month or two). Sometime RL trumps those who check whether RL has trumped others. Wink

    Is ISF cruel and uncaring?

    Many corp simply declare a member inactive and remove him/her if they see ingame that he/she has not logged ingame in over 1 month. Some corps even have a 2 week rule. Other corps will even retire someone if they miss 1, 2 or 3 group ops.

    There are all sorts of much more strict rules that could be adopted for retiring inactive members.

    We believe that ISF is very reasonable with our policy that we will retire folks (with an invitation to come back) if they have not logged ingame for over:
    (a) 30 days and not told us that they would be away and will be back by X date; or
    (b) 90 days (even if someone says they will be back by X date, after 3 months of someone being inactive we need to assume that they may never infact come back).

    Crap i came in a week late.. and $15 short. Just got my internet back today and was going to see if i had the $15 next thursday . knew something would go screwy. ah well, if i didn't have problems, i wouldn't be me...... but don't blame ya guys. didn't think i'd be back so soon anyway. I figured it be a couple more months.

    Hmmm reapply or not...... Bonuses, Get to shoot usk without getting concorded.....Cassa..... Get to shoot Usk...... Get to talk to all the people i've missed talking to..... Shoot usk............ missed just playing the game on a mature level..... shoot usk

    Minuses: get concorded when i shoot usk....

    I guess that means i'll have to come back... only way i can shoot usk and not loose money or sec status

    Tell me about it; recruitment is not open and I'm overworked already. Laughing

    Please redo the questionnaire and get your CAK(s) to me ASAP. No need for a recruitment chat since we know you. I'll check you're still you right after Wilierd. Wink

    I think my heads wraped alittle more tight now as well. maybe sorta. eve's
    at 46% (hard drive died a horrible death, but i'm sure we've had updates
    anyway). I really missed you guys. well i missed the net just about as
    much. Just going to grab a trial account and chat in the recuritment
    channel if you guys don't care. got a apointment next week, and have to
    pay for parking, so my last $15 is in limbo till i figure how much it's
    going to cost. either way we're talking 2 days time between the 29th apointment and getting paid on the first.
    I'll grab the app and fill one out and wait to post it.

    You mean wanting to shoot usk isn't enough to know i'm me? thought that would be a dead giveaway lol

    Jade

    BTW that list just mains? didn't see swatem on the list... even though i can't remember if i droped him before i left or not.
    [Yes, only mains were named above - alts were also retired however - we try not to publicly "out" people's alts. (PK)]
